GCSE and A-Level subject choice advice
We can advise pupils about their subject choice after their GCSEs and about their Sixth Form options.
Pupils often change schools for their last two years prior to university. The reasons for this can vary: some pupils want to move from a single sexed school to one with both sexes; others want to move to a more “academic” school while others want more freedom and attend a college for lessons only.
We will explain what is involved if your child wants to study a certain subject, what the implications are for their university application and which areas schools will focus on in their interviews.
Example: A typical case would be where a pupil at a single sexed boarding school wants to move to a mixed school that is perceived as being “more academic”. The concern is what subjects to choose as well as how to pass the tests and interviews.
